Heading south on Peachtree Road you will find Brookhaven Station; home to Mellow Mushroom pizza, Pub 71, Hudson Grille, and  Sugar Shack; a great place for cupcakes and sandwiches.

As you drive farther south you will find Brookhaven Bistro; located in the Health food store at Nuts 'N Berries, Terra Terroir; which is know for their wine dinners,  Elwood's Pizza, Canyons Burger Company, and Bruster's ice cream.

South East of Town Brookhaven on Dresden Drive you will find another hub of activity at Village Place Brookhaven. Fine dining establishments Valenza and Haven are always busy. Across the street you will find Kaleidoscope Bistro & Pub, Yoforia, Verde Taqueria, and J Christophers.

On the outskirts of Brookhaven is Buford Highway with a plethora of Ethnic finds: Vietnamese, Malaysian, Chinese, Mexican and more. We found a facebook group called "I enjoy dining out at Ethnic Restaurants on Buford Highway" if you would like more info.

Brookhaven History

In the early 1800s, the land that is now Brookhaven was a plantation, but by the 1900s, it became a popular summer spot where Atlantans began building vacation homes. In 1910, a group of investors purchased land for a country club surrounded by homes called Brookhaven Estates. The Brookhaven Country Club opened as Atlanta's second golf course (after East Lake) in 1912. It had nine holes.

Atlanta's Capital City Club leased the club in 1913 and, two years later, expanded the course to 18 holes. Unlike the Druid Hills and Ansley Park clubs that also opened in 1912, Brookhaven is the only one that was not an addition to an existing neighborhood. Streets were laid out and homes built around the course. Construction continued through the 1920s, with architects as noted as Neel Reid and Hal Hentz putting their stamp on the designs. The oldest part of the neighborhood was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in the 1980s.
